I have listened to Brian Tracey, JD Edwards, etc in the past…who are the new people coming on to the scene that are worth listening to?

I like Jim Rohn for basic motivational stuff.

Also, Kerry Johnson has CD sets that are SPECIFIC to our industry.  Just type his name with .com after it, and you'll see his website.

As mentioned in another thread, Bob Dunwoody is a terrific coach/motivator. He comes with years of experience in our business, having bootstrapped himself from near failure to the top.

I also find Bill Good CDs/tapes to be excellent motivators. I try to find speakers whose business philosophy mirrors my own and then glean some of their business practices from the Cd. For example: I do a lot of muni business so if I'm going through a blah period I'll pop in a Rick Desoto tape and listen to this man's enthusiasm. With 400 million in assets built 10k at a time, you gotta love this guy. Even though I've listened to the tape dozens of times I still find new ideas from listening again.

Rick Desoto was a speaker at two BG conferences. I only have his tape from the eight conference handy, but I know there is another conference tape out there. Desoto is employed by my former firm, and was a speaker at various events there also, so some of my material comes from UBS. You should be able to get the Bill Good conference tapes from Bill Good. They should be cheap at this point as they were made in the early to mid nineties. Don't let their age throw you off, the last time I heard Desoto speak, 2003, it was like a replay of his 1992 tape. This guy never changed what he does or how he does it. And did it work! As valid today as it was then. Off course to listen, you'll have to go to Radio Shack and spring for a $20 tape player.
