As I make calls I am finding more and more people who are telling me they are on the Do Not Call list, when in fact they are not…If the idiots don’t want the call, why are they too stupid not to go on the list???

I get that as well… If you have scrubbed the number, kindly inform them that you have double checked, and they are simply not on DNC. Then, convey to them that you arent trying to sell them anything, but to simply intorduce yourself and begin your spiel… Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesnt…

Just tell them you’re doing a survey and shut up and answer the dang questions.  If they’re stupid enough to think what isn’t then you should be able to outthink them.

Could someone please tell me why you all are wasting your time cold-calling?

Why not just buy a good marketing system that does 90% of the grunt work for you?  Last time I checked, you could easily create your own lead lists, appointments, and new clients without talking to complete stranges on the phone all day.

I bought one from a 25 year-old kid in Michigan who's bringing in $20MM a year in new assets that seems to be working very well for me too.  His web is www.advisormarketingsystems.com, I think.

Wow. Neato. Just think how much better it would be if you WERE a broker.

Not,

sounds like you're a HACK... What, you buy the leads and they AUTOMATICALLY become clients? I hate when new posters come in and immediately sound like jacka$$es....

Right on!  It takes us a lot of time and practice to sound that way.  Don't attempt it as a newbie.

You have to do that, plus buy all of your shampoo through their services.

Wow, you guys are touchy.

Didn't mean to offend anyone.  The name notabroker, is sort of a play-on-words.  It's supposed to mean that I'm an Advisor.

Anyway, I promise I won't post any more endorsements - as I definitely don't get paid for them.

Not that it sounds like anyone cares, but I used to make a ton of cold calls and it nearly ruined my life.  My laziness got me into seminars, direct mail, etc. - which has worked much better for me as I dreaded picking up the phone everyday to get it slammed on me from the other end.
