Many of the same listening skills required to be a successful advisor can be applied to the search for useful information in this forum.  Since my time is limited, it is important to find valuable career insight in short order.  Simple deduction skills tell me that a great many people here are similar to prospects that come in my office and talk my ear off without paying for my time.  As I increase the number of people I meet, the more I can choose how my time is valued and over time get more practiced with quickly eliminating those who don't cut the mustard.
