I will be the first to admit that I do not watch Suzie or Cramer. In fact if I have viewed a total of 15 minutes I would be surprised. Do Investors REALLY buy in to their investment advice?

Last week or early this week .....I saw a clip of Cramer having Cardiac Arrest for  his viewers. The rantings were something about how he had warned about the crisis and everyone was a bandit. Funny to say the least but do your clients really rely on their opinions? Somehow these " Personalities " seem to me somewhat like the characters selling Real Estate With No Money Down and Become A Millionaire. All you have to do is buy my book or pay to attend my seminars. The above Financial Personalities are selling their show ( Ratings ) and their Books. I get that but .......anything else?

Ice,

I think Cramer had his meeting with Jesus after the failure of Bear.  I catch clips of him every so often, and his tune has changed immensely after that day.  He was also one of the few voices of the talk-show/radio voices approving of Paulson’s Plan.

Ice … to me to be honest they are Entertainers or Story Tellers. My wife watches CSI and I don’t think she has considered that her knowledge level has advanced to joing the local police department as a Crime Scene Investigator.

Is this the Dumb and Dumber type thing?

I wonder how many of our clients rely on ER to diagnose their medical conditions and Boston Public to solve their legal issues? My guess is that they use a local doctor and lawyer who knows their individual situation and advises them accordingly.

For some reason, though, they'll put their complete trust in the talking heads on the finance-related television shows.

Wasn’t Cramer on the Today show this morning?  He was fessing up to the fact he told investors to buy Wachovia, just a few days before they got taken out…

Bspears if that is true ( I believe you ) doesn’t that say it all about these characters. Perhaps I should start a show from my office … burping , belching and screaming about anything and everything. Call myself and expert and start selling books.

If I am correct ....they have a Disclaimer at the end of these shows?

On Suzie , perhaps she could invite me over for coffee and cookies and discuss my financial objectives

Personally I watch Bloomberg first thing in the morning…just seems to be less flash and more substance.

I watch Report on Business aired in Canada. I also check out BBC Business and Bloomberg. Fast and easy. BBC has some interesting features. My wife DOES NOT watch these shows.

[/quote]   Norway,   Take a look at this link.  Read what the public posts.  These are the types of idiots that invest on their own and listen to those talking heads.   This is as pure as uneducated gets...   http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/rescue-plan-appears-headed-passage/story.aspx?guid=%7B56E12ECA%2D60D2%2D4C78%2DB833%2DF09E834029CA%7D
