With today being baseball's official opening day, I thought it would be a good opportunity to discuss some predictions of the '09 season. Immortalize your prediction...here are a couple of mine:

-Yankees win the World Series

-Manny Ramirez admits to steroid use

-Alex Rodriguez, keeping his tradition with chasing Social Security eligible women, begins dating Ruth Madoff

Cubs choke again and don’t win their division even though the entire world has picked them - CC Sabathia gets injured because he threw way too much last year - Josh Hamiliton wins AL MVP - Red Sox vs Mets World Series, Red Sox in 6

Cubs loose they’re entire bench in a terrible bus crash.  Billy Bob Thorton steps in to assemble a crackpot mix of youngsters with heart.  Through sheer will and determination, they go on to break the curse and grasp the first world series in over 100 years.

-Mark Teixeira breaks part of one of his limbs and misses at least 2 months of the season

-Tim Lincecum becomes the 1st pitcher to win 25 games for a last place team -The Mets don't make the playoffs -Citi Field has an emotional ceremony for Gary Sheffield after hitting his 500th home run -Joe Mauer and Derrek Lee win league MVP's -Boston wins World Series over the Dodgers

 - Phillies lose their first home game of the season.

   - The Yankees finish third in the AL East.    - NLCS - Dodgers over Braves in 7    - ALCS - Red Sox over Angels in 6    - World Series - Red Sox over Dodgers in 5   AL Cy Young - Jon Lester AL MVP - Mark Texiera (he will single handedly carries the Yankes to a third place finish.) AL Batting Champ - Mark Texiera   NL Cy Young - Tim Lincecum NL MVP - Manny Ramirez NL Batting Champ - Chipper Jones
