You Just Never Know!

Back in the early '90's, I worked at a Dean Witter office that had several big hitters. One of them was a guy, economist by training, who would walk around with a pipe and always wore the best suits. He was one of the nicest guys in the office. He was married, a member of the yacht club, lived in a gated community, and always drove a new beemer.
But he had a weakness that didn't show up until a couple of years later. Seems he liked to peep-in on his female neighbors. He was busted for being a peeping tom, a couple of years after I left the firm.
I'm not sure what he's doing, now. His name doesn't show up on the NASD site. What a waste of talent.
I wonder if this individual was going to be let go, but owing to his family connections was “promoted” to a management position where he could be kept out of sight of the investing public, while compiling various studies about things like, oh say, series 7 test scores?
