I am new at a major firm (one of the 5 largest) on the East Coast.  It looks like a may get sued from a past business that I was involved with...it was a startup and things hit the fan...the startup folded.  IF I get sued (not a sure thing), will the firm fire me or discipline me in any way?

Please provide any advice possible.

The biggest issue will be if you lied on your applications.  If
there is anything in there that is not truthful, youwill get fired most
likely.  If you owned a tire business and are being sued because
of badtread, I cannot see your firm getting real worked up, other than
the tme it will take away from you.  If your previous business was
credit counseling and you stole some credit card numbers…that is a
different story.  I would say it will depend on the nature of the
situation.
