Is this site only for FA types?

Is it used by anyone else?

I am interested in financial/investment topics.

Is this site only for FA types?  For the most part yes.

Is it used by anyone else?  Sometimes.  At times to our benefit(such as Bill Singer and some of the recruiters), but most often not.

I am interested in financial/investment topics.  Great.  Thanks for stopping by to share.

This is by and large a site for investment professionals to bitch, moan and offer ideas to each other.  You probably won't learn much that is constructive to the investor perspective as we are not supposed to discuss individual investments or give investment advice on the internet.

This is more of a office water cooler meeting spot.  Hopefully as an investor you don't get turned off by the inside chatter, jokes and dissention from within the ranks     We are really very nice people.......just letting off steam here.

Yes, actually just a place for us to gather and rub elbows across the Internet.

You won't get any investment advice here.  And you should not be looking for any advice here.

It's too bad that this site isn't a little more "general".

So how do the financial services firms stack up amongst each other,

'should I want to use fa services?

It's too bad that you insist on asking "general" questions after we told you that isn't the thrust of this board....

I don't believe you want to use an FA...I'm betting that you're here trolling for all the free advice you can eat...you're below my minimum anyway.

You might try the Motley Fool site or the Yahoo finance boards instead...

Generally speaking I just like keeping it "general" - know what I mean.  I actually got some good info from someone who pm'd me.

thanks: no more "general" comments.  Carry on with what you were doing and pretend I'm not here.

A topic on Hillery seems general to me.

I had visited some other sites recently, one was aameriprisesucks but it seemed t0o one-sided with this one poster totally controlling the entire site, deleting posts, not allowing free speech and I heard that she is now taking over for the webmaster, too.  That site will go downhill fast since that poster took over.   Have any of you ever visited that site???  This site seems to allow free speech but needs more "general" topics.

The fa's on this site seem more interesting.

Have fun.  Being an fa seems to be a tough job but at least you have a watercooler to hang out at and share your griefs. I'm surprised there isn't more competitive talk: my company is better than yours.

Oh, that's a good one.

Hmmm, guess they want everyone to get along here and screen stuff out.  At least they don’t ban.  Improvement getting rid of the “dude’s” photo.

Hey you short-bus escapee, what part of “go away” did you not understand?

Jan 28, 2007 5:43 pm

It's unfortunate that you are such an angry, hostile person.  You are a good fit for the amexsux board.

I now see what this site is all about.  Thanks for enlightening me.

Thanks for the info.  I have nothing else to post unless someone wants to be rude to me again and then I just might...

Jan 28, 2007 5:59 pm

IF I decide to use an fa, I might ask what forums they use and if they are rude and nasty to people, that just might influence my decision on whether to use their services.  I encourage any potential client who happens across this site to do the same.

Nothing else to post ... unless ?

Goodbye and Goodluck.

Good. You have nothing constructive to offer.  As I said this is a site for professionals to bitch about their jobs. and offer tips about being a financial advisor.  Not a site for the public to get investment ideas.  Buy Money Magazine if that is what you want.

You should hear what the doctors and nurses have to say about their jobs and their patients.   I presume you will be doing all of your own surgeries and medical procuedures from now on too?

Jan 28, 2007 9:06 pm

Your posting name suits you.

Yeah, you're a real professional, aren't you?

Any advisor in their right mind wouldn't want a piker idiot like you as a client.....
Jan 28, 2007 10:20 pm

And any one with half a brain wouldn't want you as their advisor either.

To the nice person who pm'd me with financial info:  thank you.
