I was with a bank for 8 years. When I initially started I was in a position that required securities licenses. Over time I moved into roles that did not require licensing however the firm held my licenses. I was recently terminated from the firm. In looking at the instructions for form U5 it states an explanation for termination must be given if it is a position that required licensing. My position did not require licensing but my firm still had my licenses active. Will my firm update my U5 reflecting my termination although the position I was in did not require registration?
