4 day weekend for me. Of course…now that I am no longer in the securities business I get lots of 4 day weekends, AND I don’t have to cold call, cold walk, etc. No more working on holidays (I worked on 4th of July this year) for me!!!

Nov 21, 2005 5:01 pm

Ummm …yeah.   I really appreciate those kinds of calls when I’m trying to visit with my family that I haven’t seen for a year.

That’s nuts, the only time I cold called after Thanksgiving was my rookie

year.

I’ve got CE series 101 in the morning then I’m meeting with a client for lunch

to review a $2 million acat.

After, I’ll pick up a case of wine I special ordered, Smith & Hook 2002 Cab,

and should be home by 3 to get the pool patio ready for Thanksgiving.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Me...I'm opening 3 new accounts (adding to a 403b plan)  meeting with a client to do a private placement security transaction.  Then off to the store for tomorrow's dinner.

What's on the table at your house?  I'm having

Prime Rib (with horseradish sauce of course), a mashed potato sourcream and cream cheese casserole, garlic sauteed broccoli and red peppers, tossed salad, fruit salad, home made yeast rolls (my specialty).  Cherry pie, pumpkin pie, cheesecake (already made)  And of course wine and assorted cocktails before, during and after dinner.

Probably back to the office Friday. But not cold calling!!!  Just cleaning up paperwork and putting a presentation together for an individual 401K that the client wants to be self directed and buy stocks on Monday

Nov 23, 2005 3:34 pm

Off till Monday!! Be safe, and enjoy your families and friends.

Cold calling on holiday weekends?  Any rookies reading this? This is the way you succeed big in this business. Blarm, happy hunting to you! Don't over eat on T-Day.

Tic- thanks for the supprt there. I was beginning to think, by the posts here, that I was some sort of leper. God forbid I were to show some initiative and call on a generally productive day.

Even though I am not a Rook, I know that any contacts I develop now will ultimately become clients by February. I have my ACATs signed for December business already, I have meetings lined up in ealry Dec. to do paperwork and open relationships for January, have some decent potential for Feb, but I am already looking at what may close in March. Thats the beauty/beast of this business- we always need to be looking 3 months down the road....

I cannot wait to get Babbling's leftovers in the mail come Saturday, thats good eats right there....

Man, am I getting hungry...can you set an extra place at the table?!!!

Dec. biz looks o.k. But then Jan is a fee based month. 11k net in the bag. I do love fee based.

Nov 23, 2005 7:26 pm

EZ,

I hear you on that one. Monthly fees just hit our complex. Disgusting numbers:

1. 188K

2.184K

3. 176K

And so on. 34 FA's had monthly fees of at least 100K hit.... Must be nice eh????

Nov 23, 2005 7:27 pm

Full disclosure: the top 2 are in our Private Wealth Banking Dept., but still, those monthly fees would be nice.

4 day weekend.

Hmmmm...knocking on doors on Friday isn't a bad idea though...
