Just reading the news on CNN about the Health Care Summit.

Last week it was the Fiscal Responsibility Summit.   Are these guys on drugs? It's like being on the Titanic and debating about what to do as the ship sinks. No wonder the market is tanking.   WTF - Do they really expect to grow the economy with this tax and spend, socialist b.s. - (by the way - when it doesn't work they're going to blame it on someone else).   Generate cash flow and try to hold on to what you have WHILE YOU PROSPECT FOR NEW BUSINESS.   Time to start fresh.   Perhaps we should organize a summit to give each other support while our client's lose their wealth.    The people wanted change. I hope they're happy.

I think congress and the senate is one big circle jerk summit.

What I am going to do is use every tax shelter possible so that this stupid government that is running the nation into the ground doesn’t get a cent of my money. I can do a better job with it then they can, and they certainly don’t deserve 49% of my hard-earned money and neither do the people on welfare or the people who don’t have health insurance or all the bail out companies. It is mine, I earned it, and I intend to keep it.

The IRS can come audit me all they want. Bring it on.

Can I get a big “AMEN” to that??!!

Maybe that’s the new paradigm of our business…help the wealthy keep their wealth. I think the surest way to reign in these pieces of dog drool (ie Pelosi, Reid, Rangel, et al) is to deny them access to our money.

Maybe we should start a thread to discuss aspects of tax law and help our clients in that way!

I think that is a great idea. There should be enough of us here with a fair amount of tax knowledge and experience to come up with something to help our clients and ourselves.

Indeed…that is the rational thing to do.

Sadly, though, by fostering this mentality (via increased taxation) the government is giving people greater incentive to move their money where it will be taxed the least, and spend their time and energy figuring out how to do so…rather than spending their time, energy, and money figuring out how to make more money via productive efforts.  This is why higher taxes are more government destroy wealth, not create wealth.

That is a very excellent point. Why is it that our congress men and women cannot see it that way?

Margaret, loud and clear!

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money. - Margaret Thatcher.

I could not have put it better myself. People this is what we are dealing with now - Socialism. What are you going to do about it?
