I review this fund from time to time. Although it has done exceptionally well the past 10 years, I think they had a definite tailwind due to it’s natural holdings (metals, bonds, etc.). However, I would be concerned that going forward, two of it’s biggest holdings (Gold and Long Treasuries) are ripe for massive underperformance in the years ahead. Anyone use this fund?
I agree, natural resources and gold made this fund sing. Absent those, and it was rather bland.
Fundamentally I have a problem with any fixed allocation. Give me some world allocation funds and a couple of satellites!
Idiots...
This fund has been around for a longtime and continually outperforms not only its benchmark but the S&P 500 also, with considerably less risk..
To the idiot who has a problem with fixed allocation: YOU SOLUTION IS FIXED ALLOCATION MORON...
I agree with B24 on this. I looked at it a few weeks back and was at first excited to possibly add it to my mix, but upon further examination decided that I wasn't comfortable with the treasury emphasis in particular and the level of gold holdings and that these are fixed allocations.
