Are there any other forums similar to RR that you guys would recommend?

Just make sure you don’t say anything to offend the powers that be.  They have itchy trigger fingers and will put you in time out in a heartbeat.  Oh yeah, make sure don’t even agree with someone who disagrees with them.  That pisses them off too.  I would love to tell you all of the positive points about that site, but I was put in time out forever.

That site is dead.  I go there occassionally, and it is mostly old posts.  There are maybe 2 or 3 people that post on a semi-regular basis.

BY the way, try Top Gun Producers.  It is primarily insurance producers, and it’s a bit of a strange site, but there are a lot of good ideas to find.

I had a pretty negative experience on RegReps also due to that same little termite with the itchy trigger finger…I couldn’t even defend a friend from his abuse.  I’ve looked at other sites, and they pretty much all have their own issues.  Despite the occasional troll and some of the idiotic posts here, I keep coming back to this site as the best alternative for free-flowing discussion I’ve seen for our industry.

Top gun is great in terms of having useable info.  Make sure that you have thick skin.  Read the rules before posting.

For what it’s worth, RegReps has had some of the best information posted.  I can honestly say that my bottom line has increased due to some specific conversations on that forum.

True.  But it seems like there is not much going on at RegReps.  I go back maybe once a month, and many forums have barely moved and inch.
…  I’ve looked at other sites, and they pretty much all have their own issues…  .
I agree with Indy for the most part, I frequent 3 sites and have yet to find the “perfect” forum but each has their own uses.  The biggest issue with any site or the internet in general is to make sure they don’t distract from the things you need to be doing, in other words don’t use reading the info as an excuse to not do what you know you need to.

registeredrep.com = good BASIC info and idle industry news
regrepsDOTcom = GREAT ideas on presentations and alternative points of view that make me $$$
tgpDOTcom = the BEST site for prospecting skills  (much more  info that I’m not privy to yet also)

I do think that given time regrepsDOTcom will be a great site as more people join, you have to keep in mind that it is relatively new but has taken off much quicker than sites like advisormechanic.com that really are dead sites.
regrepsDOTcom is not every one’s cup of tea but trolls last about 1/2 a day as opposed to several weeks here.  In a recent thread I reported an obvious spammer to the admin on registeredrep.com and it STILL took a week and a half.

Just my .02 cents, flame away if you must.
