our b/d has said that for all a/c's , including USA a/c's, we now need a xerox copy of a government ID (driver's licence, passport)          BEFORE opening the a/c.  Are other firms doing this?

I love how this is supposed to be the "Pro Business party" and all they've done has made doing business harder.

We have to get license #'s (including issue and exp date).  Might as well get a photo copy...

Yes, it is annoying.

And never mind if it is a "real" license or a forgery for an illegal alien.  There is no way to check and we aren't going to check. 

Waste of time if we have no follow through.

Hmmmm, would a Bank Of America credit card suffice as ID, instead?
