Could you be a little more specific?  Are you looking for lead generating companies?  Or are you looking for the names of players in a particular industry?

Monster.com has started posting “blue collar” jobs. I’d start there.

I’m looking for lead generating companies.

Bunch of non-funny comedians in here I see.

Thomas Register isn't bad. You can narrow those firms down by sector and state:

Gives you key execs names, firm profile, phone numbers, that type of thing.

Use direct card marketing.  It costs more, but it is worth it.

Ignore Helter Skelter

why would you want to do that?  You have to pay for them and profit margins are small.  The only way I see it worth it is if you have a big enough support staff to help you paper push while you sell over the phone-you basically have to make it up with high volume.  You have to shuffle through lots of small accounts before you hit a big one.

This is an example of why I went from ML to the bank.  Being able to identify prospects with money and covert them to customers is the key to success.

You can dig a hole with a spoon, but why do it when you could use a shovel?
