For my first post:

Monday through Thursday I usually work 8am till usually 5-5:30, then in the evening I usually put in an hour from the house.  usually at night i look overreviews my assistant which i split with another FC builds on a preset schedule we have set up.  usually i will look at 3-5 per night and email her corrections or things i want to review in more detail before shipping to the client.

Firdays I will work till 4-4:30 then head home

Weekends I will put in 2-3 hours...usually concentrating on my top 5 clients.

These hours are always being tweaked for appointments etc.

Since it is my first post I guess I can also tell a little about myself:

I am with a regional firm based in St. Louis, in the first month of my 4th year in production.  $61Mill in assets, 300k trailing 12, and I have right around 400 accounts.

This forum has participants that have multiple ID’s and answer their own questions. Its a joke you should read some of the prior posts.

Sounds like you are at Edward Jones and did a sizeable Goodknight.  $61 million in the first 3 three years?  All on your own?  C’mon now, Jeff.  I haven’t seen you gracing the covers of any trade magazines.  Tell us the rest of the story.  How many assets did you take over?

SS, he didn't take any over assests. It's just Put trying to discredit the theory that he replies to his own posts by playing a little mind game.

Assgatherer = Jeff

How many assets did I inherit...around 4.5-5million.  I am not any of these other people, hell i didnt even know about this sight till yesterday when one of the other fc's in my office sent me a link to an article that sent me to the site.  Like I implied in my post but obviously should have been more specific...I spend alot of my time on my top 5 clients...between them they make up over half of my AUM...and no I did not inherit them and I am not related to them

Maybe part of the reason I have had the ability to gather so many assets in my first three years is I have managed to stay away from mindless internet play and forum chat during the work day

Jeff-

I'd be interested in your business mix. A 0.5% YTB (yield to broker) is more typical of someone with many more years in the business than what you have. Perhaps that's what has ears and eyes askance at your posts.

There are two ways I can think of to have that return on your AUM in the time you've been in the business. Please, enlighten us on what your book looks like.

I'm with you Joe.

Yes, tell us the details.  You have a good amount of assets, but tooooo many clients.  Will you start culling the low accounts?

Jeff good point about wasting time on the internet. It’s the least productive part of my day, but 25 minutes to relax and laugh is worth it!
