After over 8 years as an advisor, I am throwing in the towel.  Problem is firms cannot see past the advisor title on the resume.  We wear many hats - investor relations, relationship management, trader, portfolio manager etc...those hiring for these roles cannot mae the connection

does any one have any experience in transitioning back to the real world?

You need to make the connection of how your “relationship management” skills have correlated into proficiencies in these other “technician functions”.

Read the E*Myth and you’ll get a better feel for why “Entrepreneurs & Managers” don’t always make good “technicians”… and vice versa.
