That we never talked much recently about EDJ until the Jones guys started up on the board bragging about their pitiful awards and trying to convince themselves that we are all sooooo jealous of them?
Does anyone remember who was in or won the World Series this year. No they don’t. The ratings were the lowest in years. Why is that? The Yankees weren’t playing. Come on BL you gotta admit this board is a little more fun when Mike B and the boys are trying to bash their previous firm.
It's much more fun to compete against the Jonesers in my market than to join the um...er..."greatest salesforce in the world". I just have a hard time believing that the guys in my markets are typical Jones brokers because they are so stupid and predictable. I actually had a new Jones rep once ask me what funds I sold, so I told him Putnam with a straight face. It was really funny to see all the Putnam literature in his office a couple of weeks later...and I wonder how he enjoyed watching most of them crash and burn a few years thereafter...
I've had the Jones opportunity pitched to me several times, but in my world, going to Jones would be like volunteering for a work release program...there's certainly no jealousy here.

Me too...about 3 1/2 years. The sad part is almost every thread that started eventually degenerated into a Jones Bashing thread...n matter what the original subject.
Of late...it has been a little better.

Where did you ever get the idea that Jones is my "previous firm"? Do you ever get anything right?
Does anyone at Jones make like 500k or a million a year. I suspect yes, but just curious if one can really make a ton.
