Did anyone see Bush's Katrina briefing?

This has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime.
Now I ask you, if Max Mayfield from the National Hurrican Center tells you
within 3 days, that conditions are likely that levies will be breached in New
Orleans, wouldn’t you at least ask 1 question during the briefing?
This was the same reaction as when he was told about the commercial jets
crashing into the World Trade Center. Nothing but a blank stare. I think
there is something missing with the guy.
For those that want to see it for themselves, and not through the prism of BDS, here you go....

You'll note there's no "blank stare" involved. Also note the guy from the NHC center. This is 19 hours out, and if you've ever been faced by an oncoing hurricane, you'll know how wide a "possible impact area" they have that far out.

Bush drone. 'Nuff said. Until I see otherwise I am unconvinced MikeB has any objectivity when it comes to his hero. Every post is a lockstep agreement and defense of Bush no matter what the circumstances. I haven't seen one criticism of Bush from MikeB on anything.
Iraq is under real threat of civil war, no real progress has been made in establishing a democratic non sectarian government. The platform on which the war was waged was faulted. The way Bush handled Katrina was incompetent at best and now there is proof of contradiction (doesn't suprise me any) between what Bush said he was made aware of and what he was actually told about the dangers of Katrina.
I understand that we can't expect our president to be superhuman, but I predict that the Bush Whitehouse will go down in history as one of the most incompetent, bumbling and out of touch administrations to ever run the USA.
MikeB I hope for your sake that you see the light.

Well put Sonny. The last part deserves repeating:
It just doesn't add up that he is brilliant and that the universe is just conspiring to make him look like a boob.

Sigh... you simply point out the inaccuracy of a post and suddenly you're quoted as having said things you never said.
Providing the link to allow others to make up their own mind is somehow suspect, but a bit of spin w/o a link is just dandy...

Gee, I provide the REAL video and the BDS victims claim I have no objectivity...

Its not up to us…it seems like there’s something new every week from these
guys.

I'm not specifically referencing the issue Skee brought up; Bush frequently seems aloof and jaded to me. You just always come to his defense no matter the issue. Your passionate defense of Bush under any circumstance tends to give the impression that you unequivocally endorse Bush.
I pity all the Bush B*tches (intended in a joking tone) out there. I pity myself for voting for him during the first election.

Yeah it seems as if the Bush Administration is providing new material for Jay Leno on a weekly basis. It's a bull market for political comedy, with Bush as THE HOT DOT.

Of course not, that would cause you to address the issue instead of the "you always defend..." stuff...

And you have a knee jerk negative reaction every time the name "Bush" is mentioned. The difference I've never said I unequivocally endorse Bush. Which is something you consistantly, and incorrectly, accuse me of. The fact is I've offered criticism of him.

That's interesting, because I pity all the victims of BDS and those consumed by irrational conspiracy theories....
WOW....
So for 20 years a cat 3 would potentially breach the wall. A cat 5 hits and Bush hears, "it may breach the walls." This hurricane was something so amazing there is truly nothing that could have been down a month in advance to change the outcome. Yes, 25,000+ were stranded in their homes and at the superdome. This was about 1% of total population of New Orleans.
Who here ever lived any where near a hurricane? I lived in Beloxi two years ago and experienced Opal (Cat 4 - 95) and a few other. If anything near a cat 3 is coming you move out!
It's weird that Bush would straight up lie about Brown. Till the end he had a lot of confidence, but with the puplic freaking out action had to be taken. Everyone was questioning Browns qualifications after the arabian hourse thing. So he was out and now the country changes its approach to the most impressive hurricane in the history of America.
Just what would anyone who has a never ending desire to hammer Bush do?? Knowing that the world knew a cat 3 could go over the wall. Knowing that you have 3 days to move 1.5 million people. Not knowing that 50,000 would be trapped until Tuesday morning (it takes more then a day to mobilize troops)?
Never mind the fact that the LA or Mississippi guard never came since most lost their homes, lives and ability to communicate/mobilize was lost. How the hell were active duty supposed to get there in a day? On what roads? People look at this at New Orleans only. It was Southern America that was destroyed! 2 million were displaced.
If anything like this ever happens again we will mobilize about 20k before the storm. Of course every city in America is going to have busses going up and down the streets just to show they made an effort to get all out. Then they will have more then 12 hours of food and water at the shelters. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am going crazy, but I love to think.. SO THANK YOU! Have to post before I hit the wrong button!
It is pathetic that people blame anyone, but KATRINA!
JUST IN:
WASHINGTON - In the hectic, confused hours after Hurricane Katrina lashed the Gulf Coast, Louisiana's governor hesitantly but mistakenly assured the Bush administration that New Orleans' protective levees were intact, according to new video obtained by The Associated Press showing briefings that day with federal officials. < style="WIDTH: 0px; HEIGHT: 0px" name=ygroc Border=0 width=0 height=0> < style =text/css> #ygmamyyhpff{position:absolute;}#ygmashpd{display:none;font: normal x-small verdana;position:relative;top:8px;left:65px;}.shdw{-moz-bord er-radius:4px;background:#ccc;z-index:1000;position:absolute ;top:1.5em;left:1.5em;}#ygmashpd .bd{border:1px solid #4333BC;-moz-border-radius:4px;width:360px;background:#fff;p osition:relative;top:-2px;left:-2px;z-index:1001;color:#333; }#pnt{position:absolute;top:-6px;left:30%;width:11px;height: 6px;font-size:0px;background:url(http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yi mg.com/i/ww/shpa1.gif);}#ygmashpd .ygmashp{width:40px;height:37px;font-size:0px;line-height:0p x;top:10px;left:10px;display:block;position:absolute;backgro und:url(http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/ww/ydrag.gif);}. ygmashp strong{display:none;}#ygmashpd ol{margin:9px 9px 9px 60px;padding:0 0 0 1.5em;*padding:0;}#ygmashpd li{padding:0;}#ygmashpd .hr{border-color:#ccc;margin:0 19px 5px;}#ygmashpd p{margin:0 9px 9px;text-align:center;}

"We keep getting reports in some places that maybe water is coming over the levees," Gov. Kathleen Blanco said shortly after noon on Aug. 29, according to the video. "We heard a report unconfirmed, I think, we have not breached the levee. I think we have not breached the levee at this time."
The governor does not know what is going on, but Bush should have? Nagin thinks so... Remember "10,000 dead...!!!!!"
Sorry about the messed up posting, but I think one gets the point. Maybe Brown did get the job done to the best of his abilities and powers?
