Most advisors sell their book of relationships to someone they already have a relationship with. Would you want to buy a book off of someone willing to sell it to complete strangers?

I have never heard of someone selling a book to a stranger (although it happens I guess).  It is almost always transitioned to someone younger in the business.  Larger firms are often brokered and bought by other firms, but that's more like a marger/acquisition of a business, not a "book" that's being "sold".
