http://www.rrbdlaw.com/brokeandbroker/index.php?a=blog&id=36 On Spitzer and Nietzsche Written: March 10, 2008Oh my. Oh my.
First, Bill Clinton couldn't quite get his own hands around his problem and squandered his legacy. Now, Eliot Spitzer has tossed his good name and career into the waste bin for what seems to be a high-priced hooker. Clearly, these men are not the only politicians and prosecutors who failed to live up to the challenges of their office, and they will not be the last.
The saddest aspect of today's revelations was best captured in one of Nietzsche's lines (with apologies if I don't remember it perfectly after all these years):
IT IS NOT THAT YOU LIED BUT THAT I NO LONGER BELIEVE YOU THAT HAS SHAKEN ME.
I continue to be astounded that otherwise intelligent men can do such STOOOOOOPID things.
...and why can't they leave their poor wives home when they face the cameras?!! I think Mrs. Spitzer looked worse than Mrs. McGreevey did...sheeeesh...
