Securities Service Network Nabs Retirement Planning Group From Ameritas

The addition is part of the Ladenburg subsidiary’s plan to recruit and support tax-focused advisors.

Independent broker/dealer Securities Service Network has brought over Retirement Planning Group, a Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-based practice with $180 million in client assets. The team, led by Dave Kopyc, joins from Ameritas Investment Corp.

The addition comes as SSN, a subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann, has invested in and developed educational and analytical tools to support tax-savvy advisors over the past year. Supporting these types of advisors is part of the firm’s strategic growth plan.

Retirement Planning Group focuses on pre- and post-retirement planning for high-net-worth individuals and business owners. Those capabilities include tax planning, tax reduction strategies and insurance.

“We’ve had an incredibly productive year of building out all the key groundwork we need to thrive as a provider of comprehensive solutions to tax-savvy financial planners who are seeking more sophisticated platforms and looking for partners that go beyond high-volume turnkey service,” said Wade Wilkinson, president and CEO of SSN, in a statement. “Recruiting RPG demonstrates our success on that front.”
