First Allied Securities, an IBD, has hired Yanni Bousnakis as managing director of investment management and Keith Mistretta as senior vice president of business development. Bousnakis, who'll head up the company's Guided Portfolio Solutions platform, came over from LPL Financial. Mistretta who'll be responsible for northeastern recruiting efforts, joins from Securities America.

Ameriprise Financial has tapped $250 million team Josh Brown and Ron Rienas from Merrill Lynch. Joining the firm's franchise network, the two have opened Rienas & Brown Wealth Management in Yonkers, N.Y.

Mike Petko joined RIA Curian Capital as its new divisional vice president for the East region. Previously, he served as executive vice president and national sales manager for Transamerica Capital.

Putnam Investments has added Michael Shamon to its internal defined-contribution sales team, and hired Daniel McDermott as relationship manager on mid- to large-sized retirement plans. Most recently, Shamon was with JPMorgan Asset Management in Boston, while McDermott was with Prudential Retirement in Hartford, Conn.
