Alternative investment platform iCapital has partnered with Golub Capital, a direct lender, to bring its private credit strategies to advisors on the iCapital platform.
Golub’s investments will be available to the more than 10,000 advisors on iCapital’s flagship platform. In addition, iCapital will build a portal for Golub and its existing clients.
As part of the agreement, iCapital will provide advisors with educational materials and will administer the investments.
Golub has over $45 billion of capital under management and specializes in debt financing for companies backed by private equity. The firm provides late-stage lending, syndicated loans and other types of credit.
iCapital, which was founded in 2013, facilitates more than $115 billion in client assets across some 970 funds. The firm's stated mission is to remove the friction from investing in alternative assets for financial advisors, making the transaction and administration comparable to buying a mutual fund.
Last July, iCapital announced it had raised $440 million from an international cohort of new and returning investors, valuing the firm at $4 billion.
