Position Responsibilities: Our client, an excellent regional bank, has an opportunity for a Private Banker in the Palm Harbor area of Florida. Great job on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida! Primary job function of this position is to provide full-service banking to high-net-worth individuals by the extension of credit and the marketing of company services. Scope of the position: Private banking high-net-worth customer eligibility criteria: . $150,000 to $200,000 minimum income or . $250,000 net worth / liquidity capable of being invested or . high potential as "emerging wealth" (e.g. Physicians, Attorneys, etc.). Business development/client solicitation activities are focused solely on high-net-worth customers and professional service firms (e.g. Law Firms, Accounting Firms, etc.). Products and services sold include all types financial products, all consumer loans, annuities, mutual funds, cash management services, residential construction loans, residential mortgage loans and commercial loans. Limited loan authority, typically up to $50,000 to $75,000. Average size portfolio, loan portfolio is typically in the $10 MM to $20 MM range. The majority of accounts have average deposits in the $25,000 to $150,000 range and average loan balances in the $50,000 to $100,000 range. Manages 150 to 250 customer relationships. The average loan size is $50,000 to $100,000. Responsibilities include: Meets the credit needs of high-net-worth customers seeking secured and unsecured loans for a variety of purposes. Provides deposit-related services to high-net-worth individuals as needed. Cross-sells all other retail products as well as trust services such as personal trusts, investment, financial and estate planning services. Calls on new or existing customers to develop new business by promoting bank services and products. Represents the bank in civic, community, and industry functions to network and develop additional business. Keeps informed of current economic conditions and legislation that may affect customer relationships and department banking activities. May assist less experienced staff with complex accounts.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Bachelorís degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience. A degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred. Formal credit training. 3 years of sales and business development experience. Over 3 years of private banking, retail, consumer and commercial lending experience including management of a commercial loan portfolio. 3 years of customer service experience including most facets of branch banking customer service, consumer lending, etc. Solid understanding of all bank products and services (retail, investment, trust, etc). Working knowledge of commercial lending, consumer lending and retail services, documentation, underwriting, and regulatory guidelines. Working knowledge of banking office lending functions. Working knowledge of the loan application and loan approval process. Knowledge of financial ratios and business principles. Understanding of regulatory guidelines. Working knowledge of credit analysis and lending functions. Knowledge of financial planning. Candidate with ties to the area or knowledge of local market preferred.
