Throwback Thursday: Seven of the Biggest Tech Investment Flops

It may be too early to tell how successful Apple's new Apple Watch and Apple Pay initiatives may be and what they mean for the future of the Silicon Valley giant, yet many analysts seem impressed enough to raise earnings forecasts and Apple’s stock-price target.

But analysts and investors are not always the most savvy when it comes to carefully evaluating bright, shiny technology innovations. Before there was Google, there was InfoSpace. Before there was Amazon, there was Webvan. Before there was Facebook there was theGlobe. 

Why haven't you heard of any of them? Because they all flopped, mainly when the dot-com bubble burst in the early 2000s. Despite all being hyped as the biggest and best technology investments, most only lasted a few years.
