Has anybody been to a gun show recently?  Went to one this am, and it was wall-to-wall.  I’ve never seen one with as many people in attendance, and that includes some really big shows in Dallas and Atlanta.  The biggest lines were at the reloading/ammo tables.  Lines wrapped around the display, people waiting 30, 45 minutes to buy ammo.  Anybody else seeing this?

I’ve been to several in Dallas. Pretty amazing.  B. Hussein Obama is the best gun salesman, ever!

From what I have heard… “If the Liberals can’t do away with the second amendment, they will tax the piss out of ammo.”

The last gun show i was at was in Nov of 07 and it was wall to wall then.

The latest opinion is that people fear their second amendment rights are going away which explains why the shows are crowded today. Still doesn't explain why that show was so crowded a year and half ago.

I was at a gun show a few days ago, and it was wall to wall also, scary part was, it was 80% Assault riffels

Most stores around me have no ammo, and where you can get it, it is expensive.  The lone exception was finding Remington 165 grain .40S&W practice ammo 50 rounds for 20 bucks last weekend.  I didn’t quite empty his inventory, but I did buy five boxes at that price.  I’m still sighting in my new Glock and at these levels, it’s an expensive proposition.

If I'd been smart, I would have bought guns & ammo stocks back in December/January.

I bought RGR (this is not a solicitation to either buy or sell…) the day after the election, and it’s about the only thing looking pretty in my rollover right now.  Starting to look at OLN some.

  Congrats on the Glock.

Do you guys know anything about the Springfield XD 4" 9mm? It looks like a good concealed carry gun but I’ve only read about it online, never seen or shot one.

I’ve concealed the 5" so I’m sure the XD 4" would be fine for you to conceal.

UNDERMINDED:

What's scary is the media has you believing that the semiautomatic firearms you were looking at were "Assault Rifles"   An assault rifle is a rifle designed for combat, with selective fire (capable of shooting in both fully automatic and semi automatic modes). Assault rifles are the standard infantry weapons in most modern armies, having largely superseded or supplemented larger and more powerful battle rifles such as the FN FAL and the Heckler & Koch G3. Examples of assault rifles include the AK-47, the M16.   If I was a cop I would be far more scared of a red neck and his deer rifle than some gang banger and his assault rifle look alike.

Did you all see 60 Minutes last night.  There is some crazy stuff going on right now.  I think the paranoia is raising to a dangerous level.  We have to ask ourselves who is benefitting from all of this talk about repealing the 2nd Amendment?  Answer:  gun makers and ammo makers!  Look at nestegg’s post.  I own three guns and I am an avid hunter but I don’t believe in the propaganda that is being spread by the NRA and others that the government will ever come take my guns away or my right to own them.  People need to chill!

Part of the run on ammo and weapons is fear of social unrest, but I don’t believe that’s the main thing causing the shortages. I think the run on guns and ammo (especially pistol ammo), is due to a fear of rising prices, and I happen to think that’s a valid fear.  If you think 9mm ammo will cost more (possibly a lot more) in six months, you overload on it now.

Obama and his cronies (Pelosi, etc.) would love to outlaw guns. They know they can't really do that in the short term. So, the next best step is to make owning and shooting guns very expensive.  They will either tax the purchases a LOT (like tobacco tax), or they will require the ammo makers to change their manufacturing process, like adding some type of substance that can be traced back to a manufacturer.  Either way, I believe prices on guns and ammo WILL be going up (faster than inflation) in the future.

They would take them away in a second if they could and will never stop trying.
