Put was thrown off the site but managed a brief comeback a year or so later. He’s been gone since. One smart dude, even if with a fatal flaw. I actually miss him. As i do mikebutler222.

The Judge checks in once every couple of years or so, doberman has moved on, though was still in the biz when he announced his departure. He correctly called GM's demise years before the final nail was hammered down. I infamously disagreed with him.   Babbling Looney said she was quiting the biz in the fall of 08 because of the market downturn, hmmm? She got pretty pissed at me because of my support of Obama in 08. However, when it comes to hating me, she's got lots of company on this board.  Certainly not a reason to stop posting.   Blarnstorm has been gone for years and stopped responding to PMs.   I think the fact that has to be recognized here is that this is a tough biz, many pass through, and then are gone. Others, though still in the biz find little benefit to posting or putting up with some of the bullsh*t that goes on here.

voltmoie contacted me at one point via pm. He’s concentrating on building his business … like i should be.

Nope, still here.  I looked this morning.  Her smiling face is still on our directory.

What happened to Morphius? He was a cool cat…should have been playing the sax at a jazz club on the down low…

Ms. Broker broke my heart and I had to stay away from the site. It’s hard but knowing Ron has my backside makes it easier to cope.

Working!  It's been a hell of a start to 2010.  New office.  More new business than I deserve. 100% decided I'm going indy in two years.  Ms. Broker sent me a text and told me about the forum change so I had to log on to save my name.

Yeah, I'm not too jazzed about that either, but we can still agree on other subjects such as motorcycles.  I'm already plotting my summer trip to the Smokies and northern GA.   Blarmston was an excellent young gun.  I'd like to think he made it and is simply too successful to mess with posting here.   It was good to see Zacko make a return in the recent past also.

Nor was i too happy about some of the sh*t that got heaped on me for having an opinon that was unpopular within this group. Anyone doubting the sage advice not to wade into religion or politics with clients should search the political threads here leading up to the election. Some of it was pretty ugly.

Can we explain our love of motorcycles? Not in words! The Smokies sounds really good! Lots of twisties! There's a magazine i've been picking up up at the local Barnes and Noble "Motorcycle Tour and Travel." They have two or three trips per issue, with maps etc. Some good stuff to peak interest. I also havebooks, Motorcycle rides in the Mid Atlantic and one for New England. I staked out a room at the Hamton Inn at Front Royal Va and then did four rides using Front Royal as a staging area. I did the same thing in New England. I also used the books to do some Mini Cooper trips. Not the same but still fun!   I think Blarm is gone from the biz. I PMed him and got nothing back.   Norway 401 kinda dropped off the scope as well, though I believe him to be a very successful producer.   Morphius I don't mind missing. That guy really offended me. As you know i'm pretty open here with certain aspects of my personal life.  IMO, he was way out of line in attacking something I said. And, i've got a thick skin. Ok with me if he's melted into the lines of the unemployed, or just grown bored with the board.   Hey, nobody mentioned Joedabroker - now there was one cool dude!

Did ComplianceJerk ever morph into anybody?

Feb 26, 2010 5:08 pm

Yeah, he’s some A-hole that moved up to New England to work for some RIA.  Thinks he’s the cat’s a$$ of compliance “experts”.

Feb 26, 2010 5:50 pm

Hah.  I’m not the ComplianceJerk.  I joined the forum on, what I believe to be, his way out (if he left).

A few of us still talk to Joe, although he’s long gone from these boards.  I think he finally wised up and decided that his time was better spent running his business.  I got a couple of PMs from a name I didn’t recognize and later assumed was MikeButler.  Interestingly enough, from what I googled on the web, MB recently joined Wells Fargo Advisors.  Apparently, the MSSB merger didn’t appeal to him.  I used to argue indy vs. wirehouse with him at it got pretty ugly at one point, but I really came to appreciate him later.

It's sad to hear that several of us have dropped out, but in an industry where approximately nine out of ten fail, it's inevitable.

Do you guys feel like the old people whose friends have all died?
