It is so freaking hot here. People are cancelling appointments today because they don't want to get their butts fried by getting into their cars. I don't blame them. You can''t touch the steering wheel without asbestos gloves on. It was 108 yesterday and is already 101 at 9:45 am. Expected to hit 115 at least to day. I guess the good news is that since everyone is holed up in their houses I can get them by phone.
That's it. Just wanted to bitch about it.
Northern California in a retirement community area. These temperatures are fairly typical for the summer (although a bit higher than normal). In the winter it freezes and snows where I'm at because of the elevation.

I just mainly wanted to complain and whine.

So you're near Humboldt where all the stoners are.
This pretty much sums up the political feelings of my clients and probably explains a lot of my ranting posts.
Dust Bunny- you should forget NorCal and come on down to SoCal. Nothing but sun-filled days with 75 degree weather and a nice breeze…
Not that it was so hot, but I look out and the surf was bitchen' so off I went to drop the core temp a few degrees (this IS Maine water after all!)
And now I'm back!
I love my job!
It is hot here to. I went for a hike Tuesday and I did not run into snow untill over 10,700 feet. Mountains are melting fast! It has not snowed here since the first week in June! And then it was just a dusting.
The nights are nice upper 40's
It was 108 here in the desert yesterday for the 4th. I had to stand close to the BBQ when I was grillin’ to cool down
It was 80 degrees and sunny yesterday. I drank about 25 beers from 10am-midnight with 300,000 of my closest friends…
25 beers! Geeeeesh! Now, I’ve got a mental picture of you with a gut hanging over your bermuda shorts, a bad combover, an unlit stogie sticking out of the corner of your mouth, and a carpet of hair on your back.

OMG!! Now that's a mental image I really don't want. Plaid shorts?

Dusty Bunny, just cut that hay and let them fields lie fallow for a while.

Yah but it’s a ‘dry heat’.

I used to laugh at that but when you fly from here to back east you realize that 110 with 5% humidity is much more comfotable than 90 with 90% humidity.

[/quote]True but you can also get sunburned much easier because it sneaks up on you....
I almost moved my practice to Shasta CA a couple of years ago. But I decided I liked Co Rookies better. Personal choice.
Shasta is nice

God yes. When I was at Jones, I was sent back to St Louis for an award ceremony. The temp was in the high 80s and I think the humidity must have been the same. . It felt like being in a Turkish sauna and smacked in the face with a hot wet towel when we landed in St Louis. I thought I was going to melt into a pool of sweat and makeup. Gross At least you guys don't have to wear nylons with your business attire.
When we changed planes in Phoenix, the temp was about 105. When we got off the plane it was like..."What a relief!!!" I don' t know how anyone can stand that humidity.
Give me 110 with a 2% humidity factor anytime compared to that.
