This is a test forum

I see you’re requiring members to be logged in to view posts here…and I view that as a positive.  This forum should be at least somewhat shielded from the general public.

Hey, I'm a broker...I'm broker and broker by the minute.

I don't post here that often and I've complimented the admins on their good job here.

You're just upset because you can't cyberbully here anymore.  But if they want me off, that's fine.  I'm sure Bobby can post here again if he stops his taunts;123
Hey moron, I can cyberbully all I want.

YOU ARE NOT A BROKER.  These forums are for people in the industry.  When will you get it through your sad pathetic head that we don't want you here?  Seriously.
Who's the idiot now.  This site is now civilized whether I'm removed from the site.  Kudos to the admins.  Your bud can post here again if he acts professional and stops tormenting people.

admin:

Actually you can’t. At least not here. Consider yourself warned.   Seriously.

Kudos to you guys for allowing the meaningless banter back and forth between most of us, but not the downright meanness that we see from time to time.

Ferris…what’s the point Really , I would hope that most regular members can recognize the village idiots that attempt to post. By giving them a forum it only encourages them. Must admit every now and then a couple of funny idiots do appear. Good for a laugh and chuckle.

Aug 27, 2008 7:58 pm

You are focused on me wayy to much Ferris.  Move on.  But, I bet if you keep asking the admins, maybe you’ll get your wish.  I don’t post here that much anymore but if you’re that concerned about it, keep complaining to the admins.  You’re so professional and I’m sure they’ll listen to you.

Aug 27, 2008 8:34 pm

Ferris, you ought to just ignore the troll.  You only encourage it when you acknowledge its existence.

Aug 27, 2008 8:37 pm

Ferris see my above post and Bab’s post. Consider the source.

Jessica Rabbit is so hawt!

Aug 27, 2008 8:53 pm

Ferris - if it looks like a skunk , if it smells like a skunk …IT’S A SKUNK.

Aug 27, 2008 9:11 pm

Ferris, I disagree.  One of my clients’ father in law recently went to work for primerica.  She asked for my opinion of the company and I referred her to this website.

Aug 27, 2008 11:43 pm

Hey, admin, Ferris is 100% correct.  The fact that the public can admit to not being a registered rep and still post is a problem for the board.  Most RRs can’t post on a board that allows members of the public.

The board has nothing to gain by allowing the Charlie Broker 's of the world(not a personal attack against Charlie, Nancy, etc) to post.  Allowing non-RR's will certainly stop some (many?) RR's from posting.   And in this case, Charlie Broker detracts from the board and has never furthered a conversation.   (That is a personal attack.)   Non-brokers don't belong.

I must say that I do feel uncomfortable discussing more technical and in depth types of issues when I feel that there are lurkers and trolls who want to use our words against us.  Granted, they don’t know exactly who we are but it is often given out who we are affiliated with or work for.   So, we tend to not be as forthcoming as we could be and it hampers our ability to learn from each other.

I was pleased that people who haven’t taken the trouble to register for the forum can’t read our posts, but I really see no way that we can screen out the non registered annoying trolls from the legitimate and often annoying registered reps.   In addition, there are many who are not registered YET, who are trying to glean some information on the industry and decide if they are cut out for this.

I would hope that the Admin wouldn’t  ban someone for having a spirited  legitimate disagreement and argument with others.  After all, that is really some of the fun of a forum like this.  If we can’t call Bobby Hull a low life annuity shark and he can’t retaliate, then were is the fun?  Disagreeing with someone and being frank and forthright (alright…I admit it…bitchy) about it is NOT cyberbullying.  I’ve said before that this is a “water cooler” atmosphere where we can let down our hair.  First of all, if you are easily offended you have no place in this industry where it takes a hide like a rhinocerous to survive all the disapointments and bruised egos.  That and a good bottle of scotch.

And yes…Jessica Rabbit is hawt.   Of course this is exactly how I’m built  too   (except my hair is shorter and not quite that red)  my husband assures me that this is so.

Don’t let the html code hit you in the ass on your way out.

If I post, it's normally in defense of someone who continually likes to crap on me as in this case.  Please note, I didn't post until Ferris chose to try to crap on me.  And I posted when babbs tried to crap on me, too.  These people love to keep mentioning me.  If they want me to stop posting: then shut the hell up and ignore the troll.  A troll is someone who continually wants a reaction from others.  I want no reaction from any of you and you can just ignore me for all I care.  Now with some people, if the post here and say all fas are bad, yada yada yada as we know macca and a couple of others did, this is trolling.  A member using a site isn't a troll - you heard it from the admin: play nice inthe sandbox, no matter your occupation.   The admins have spoken: they don't care what occupation you are: so, shut the hell up and move along.   It's amusing how Ferris wants to make sure you're in the biz and yet on the forum that he and BobbyHull put together has all kinds of disgust and degrading comments about women I've been told--yes, I can see why he'd want it a closed forum.  Allow the admin here to check out your site so he/she can see what I mean.  You wouldn't believe all of the trashtalk over there.    The webmaster over there, BobbyHull, has posted some tormenting comments about a good member here where he doesn't seem to want to post anymore.  However, he claims the member did that to others and it's payback.  This member tried to call a truce--so I'd suggest that you tighten down the forum on the weekend since that is when he tries to come back and torment this member.   I've tried to point out how one such as me can have freedom of speech here without having to deal with cyberbullying.  This site is better.  And I'm now posting in Lounge or General.  I had posted info re: background check and applying for jobs in general which I know about.    People in the field are threatened by others using this site... interesting.   Admins: keep up the good work.  If people threaten to pick up their toys and leave, they'll be backkk ...they said it before if you will recall.  Don't let the bullies control this site which is what they want.   Admins, you will note my posts are mostly in defense since this little soriety club seem to think they can do this to others.    If these so called "registered reps" are so worried about the general public or others viewing the site...what are they trying to hide.  Now if you go to the other site (Ferris&Bobby's), you will see what they are trying to hide: degrading comments about women, x-rated talk, dog humping avatars...you name it -- yeah, I can see why they want it a closed site.
Aug 28, 2008 1:28 am

Babs is right. There is no way to screen out the annoying non registered trolls.

Wait, actually there is. If we all resolved to ignore them, really ignore them, they would eventually go away. Just make believe their posts dont exist.   One more point: KUDOS to the admin - great progress has been made in cleaning up this sight. We arent there yet but we are well on our way.
Aug 28, 2008 1:30 am

Ferris - if it looks like a skunk , if it smells like a skunk …IT’S A SKUNK. --yeah, it takes one to know one - now admins, this is an example of TROLL behavior.

What are the so called registered reps trying to hide...and why are they so afraid of someone who doesn't post unless it's normally in defense...or if someone has a question about a background check, etc that I do know about... one member said because I wasn't in a soriety here that this was wrong info... wrong Shirlock, I've worked and I know about job interviews and applying for jobs.  There are others who can answer questions...not just the soriety club members.  So, quit mentioning me if you don't want me to post as much.   Admin:  Please feel free to check my posts: all 57.  Most of them are in defense of someone trying to bully me off the site.  I had an encouraging post for someone interested in the field and was complimented on an encouraging post re: background check; otherwise, I post in General or Lounge.  And look how they treat their own: several people banned and given TGP treatment.  And you know what BobbyHull did to a valued member here: he doesn't want to post here anymore and most of his posts are now blank.   I would let these little bullies try to tell you what to do with this site.  Especially in light of how they treat their own--you've heard of dogs that eat their young.  These nasties were jealous that this member got his cfp.  This member was embarrassed by this person posting this member's picture and threatening to out him.  And you want to listen to these type of people tell you how to run a site.  Keep doing the right thing and ensure this site stays civilized.

Why'd you refer her to this site?  You couldn't tell her how crappy of a place it is to her face?

Charlie,

You don't understand politics, do you.   The 'admins' work for us, the posters.  We, the posters, who subscribe to their publication who charge for advertising space.  (This is how they make money, you know.)   Who is the end user of this company here to please?  US, the end user, THE REGISTERED REP!   If the admins don't support this forum in a way that supports us and our profession, we ALL need to vote with our "feet" (or typing fingers as the case may be).   So, Charlie, you hiding behind what the 'admins' say is NOT what may be best for us, the posters and the profession.   What is it that WE are trying to hide?  OUR IDENTITY!   Registered reps are generally prohibited from posting in online forums because it is considered "advertising".  All forms of advertising must be approved in advance before they are published.    Bottom line:  every post we write is supposed to be approved by our compliance department before it is published.   Let me ask you this:  How many of us do you think get our compliance officer's approval before we post here?  Before we wipe our own ass?   OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS RESTRICTED AS A REGISTERED REP.  OUR ANONYMITY HELPS TO PRESERVE THAT.   YOU can't understand that because YOU are not in our world.  Capiche?   What happens if we are found out by our firms?  We can get fined for engaging in unapproved activities against our compliance rules.  I don't want to be fined, but I want my freedom of speech.   Solution?  Anonymity.   Here's a quick read on the subject: http://www.topgunproducers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=887   Preserve it for us, or else we leave.
