Again, I'm damned if I answer and I'm damned if I don't.

I answer and I'm accused of not communicating.

Ok!

For the fourth time... It's not about the production number itself (with me anyway) the question was How did your revealing it help that guy?

You are always saying "I'm here to give back.' "I'm here to help the rookies" and yet, you did not. I don't really care how much you did, but your ACTION spoke louder than your WORDS.

You said 'gee great question and maybe other rookies will step up and answer' and then you put up a number that would have scared most average rookies from sharing.

And please, stop with the false modesty, you know that you considered it to be an above average number because you said you were number two in your training class. The top 2 percentile is not the average. I'm not wowed by the number, but if I was a rookie bustin my ass and doing $80M in my frosh year I'd certainly not want to put it up against your $150M.

So what did you action do? Did it help the rookie? No.

Maybe, he looked at it and said, "Wow, you can do a lot!" and maybe he looked at it and said "Gee, here I was thinking my 100M was pretty good..."

"I didn't want to have to dig out my dictionary, thesaurus,..."

Which way do you want it Bondguy? That you understood what I assumed you would or that you needed to go to the dictionary?

You're talking in circles.

"You're down to name calling."

"I DO think that you are an asset to this community."

Gee, I'm sorry. I didn't think that you'd be offended.

But seriously, guy. You DO claim victim status and you do play the drama queen role. I just point it out so you know that I'm not just calling you names, I'm highlighting a behavior pattern the proof is in how many times you do it.

That's the best brag you got? A $400,000 motorhome? Dude, check out my summer home.

I know it's not as exciting as cruisin' the nation's trailer parks.

Look, we shouldn't be fighting. I respect who you are and what you do. I'm glad you're here to give the newbies encouragement, that way I don't feel so guilty about not doing so.

You don't want to read my posts, don't. No skin off my back.

Hey Bobby, you must go through a lot of 6-packs of socks eh? Dont really feel like wearing 'em after a pleasant night by your lonesome...

I can just imagine it... BH out on the town at some dive bar in Southside Chicago, trolling to take home some overweight divorced pig with 9 teeth missing. Buying her Pabst Blue to get her nice and in the mood... AHHH. You truly are living the High Life... (the predictable mother comment is probably gonna come along in about 3... 2... 1... seconds...)...

Actually, yes. You make me want to puke.  Seriously, (if you can be serious) how warped, desperate and socially handicapped does one have to be to find their own alter ego a sexual attraction.  If you aren't the same person with multiple personalities crapping all over this forum, then I strongly suggest you get out more and get some therapy.

I framed my answer as I did to give it historical context, ie your results may vary. However that said, a buck fifty isn't the stratosphere for rookies these days. A few years back one of the rookies in my office did a hair over 300K in his first year. Currently we have a rookie in her third year moving nicely through the mid two's. My wife, who started ten years ago did about 175k her first year. (note the rounding). As I said I was above average from my second year on. First year, not so hot relative to my peer group. My peer group is a group of friends I've had since the beginning. Every one of these people out produces me and I produce a lot. My freinds have taught me to be humble. There was no ego in my answer. In my group I'm the piker. So, from my POV, in answering the kid's question, I was helping, nothing more should have been read into it. My POV is that 150 first year is very very doable.

And as far as ego goes, this is a tough biz. Maybe the group should allow some chest thumping. Everyone of us could have taken the safe weekly check route. Yet, we didn't. There should be nothing wrong with sharing success stories.

If you only do 80k your first year find something else to do or really step it up in year two. Again 150 not impossible. Just my opinion based on what i see from trainees over recent years, as well as my own experience coming up.

So what did you action do? Did it help the rookie? No.

Not for either of us to say. Only the rookie can answer that question. With sales, we both know that success breeds success. Here's an interesting tidbit. A few months ago my wife wrote a million dollar annuity. It was the first million dollar annuity this office had seen in years. She got a big atta boy at the next sales meeting. Since then the office has done about a half dozen of these big ticket annuities. Sometimes you only need show that it can be done. Same goes for my answer to the rookie. 150 and much more can be done in the first year, but first you gotta believe it can be done. Or to put it another way, if I can do it, so can you.

Maybe, he looked at it and said, "Wow, you can do a lot!" and maybe he looked at it and said "Gee, here I was thinking my 100M was pretty good..."

"I didn't want to have to dig out my dictionary, thesaurus,..."

Last thing I am is a victim. We both know that.

That's the best brag you got? A $400,000 motorhome? Dude, check out my summer home.

Actually, far from it. However, Homer the motorhome is already a known to long time readers of this forum. I figured I'd get a pass on it or at least the benefit of a doubt from the success police on the overt show of wealth by using it( a known) to make my point. As for my best brag: Skippy the Scooter, a 2003 Honda Reflex scooter. Good fun in the city.

I'm 55, does dude apply. My kids call me old guy. I can still kick their butts on a bicycle though. old guy dosn't bother me. Facts are facts. I'd rather be over the hill than buried beneath it.

Wow…I’ve been gone a few hours and everything gets nuts!

I’m not sure I can even figure out who the houses belong to, but nice pictures either way.  I think they are BG’s.

Apr 19, 2007 2:43 am

When exactly did the motorhome become part of the conversation?

Apr 19, 2007 3:58 am

Wow: talk about a joke of the missing sock!  I pity his mother:

(You put one pair of socks in the dryer...but only one comes out.) In her case...hope you only had one sock to put in the dryer!  yuck!
Hopefully he had the decency to just throw the sock away.  And judging by probablity of lack of a girlfriend due to the indication he also had such a lackluster personality then--probably thought he could get a date by insulting a gal...I'm sure he messed up a few socks.  Yuck!

Back to the duel at hand (how this topic changed from Imus is beyond me).

I couldn't bring up the pics on my laptop; however, seems that whom is also bragging..about his summer home and surely he wouldn't want to give this much info on an anonymous site...no doubt found a good real estate site (oneupmanship on the motor home).  Topic got way off course and turned into a "my d*k is bigger than yours"...of course, I'm sure both of yours are bigger than mine.

Bondguy:  When it comes down to it, your dog is still proud of you: so that’s all that matters.

Speaking of dogs, Bond Guy is back, the ending is happy. Bobby said he would be back, so I guess Bobby knows the future. A lone cowboy rides into the sunset, knowing God is in heaven, the creatures are content, the future of our industry secured for another day…

“Oh hon-look over there.  The trolls and the sock puppets are playing so nicely together.  Isn’t it cuuuuuuute?”

Apr 19, 2007 5:10 am

sorry...you had a bad day...you were in a hurry this am and wore your "stickee" stocks today.  Talk about smelly, spermy feet!

Hmmm, maybe that's how those guys invented the yellow 'stickees'.  (stickee sock...stickey paper...hmmm, can't write a note on my socks...paper would work...yeah, and thus, the idea for yellow stickees was born.

I had no idea that guys were so close to their 'socks'.

Hon...I'm packing for my trip.... where's my socks!

His house is modest and comfortable with beautiful scenery. It doesn't appear to be much of a financial burden to him, making it that much more enjoyable.
When exactly did the motorhome become part of the conversation?
Joe, I'll save you some reading time. I brought up the motorhome to make a point. The thread has taken a predictable turn since. As I said to whomit in another rely I felt bringing up the motrhome was safe in that I've mentioned it(not it's cost) on the this forum before. Also, most non motorhome owners don't know one of these things from another and generally look down on them thus giving me a sense of security in posting. But I did break the golden rule, I mentioned its cost. Thus whomit posted the pixs of the house to one up me.

Agree, that it looks like a nice place.

Being that we are in a money business maybe some show of success and wealth wouldn't be such a bad thing. Show that all the hard work is worth the effort. That anyone starting today can someday buy the house in the picture, or a 40 foot motorhome, fast cars, airplanes, or peace of mind. Whatever floats your boat. And you have the money to float that boat if that's what you want. We all work hard for the green.

That's awesome. You just got a lot cooler in my book.

Why is that–must be master of his own domain, too?  Did he give you some ideas on how to organize your sock?

Apr 24, 2007 9:28 pm

Sorry for using this particular thread but

Hey, Bondguy! Now there's a way to find out how you are doing in you dog's eyes! http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/24/science/24wag.html
