Hunton & Williams LLP Continues To Expand West Coast Presence, Adds Insurance Litigation Lawyers Curtis Porterfield and William Um

LOS ANGELESApril 7, 2011 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces the expansion of its insurance litigation and recovery practice and its California presence with the addition of partner Curtis D. Porterfield and counsel William T. Um in Los Angeles. Formerly with Howrey LLP, Porterfield and Um have represented policyholders in some of the most complex cases in the insurance recovery area, and have done so in venues across the country. “Curtis and Will have a multifaceted practice that will benefit our clients, particularly those in California which has the largest market for insurance coverage cases in the United States,” said Wally Martinez, the firm’s managing partner.

In addition to insurance recovery, Curtis Porterfield has litigated a variety of complex business and intellectual property matters, including anticompetitive practices, entertainment, and copy right and trademark issues. He has been recognized by Chambers in Insurance Recovery and as a Los Angeles Super Lawyer in every year they have published. William Um focuses his practice on general and complex litigation and insurance recovery matters.
