Get Published on Registered Rep.com

Submit a column to our new microsite, Rep. Readers Write.

Every month, we hope, you flip through our pages and click through our website to find a few things worthy of your reading time — articles that inform and entertain, that deepen your understanding of the business of providing financial advice to retail clients. But perhaps you have something to say, too. An opinion or an idea or inside knowledge of an important trend in the industry that you think our readers should know about and that you'd like to put down on paper — or, well, plasma — in your own words. If that's the case, we'd like to invite you to contribute to our website Registeredrep.com through a fun new tool called “Rep. Readers Write,” which is currently in the beta phase.

“Rep. Readers Write” allows readers to upload their own articles to a special section of Registeredrep.com, including a byline and bio information, and (eventually) a photo. Those stories will then be approved and published by editors, with little or no editing. You could call it a kind of social blogging micro-site, though we will only publish those submissions that are well-crafted and thoughtful pieces on subjects significant to the wealth management industry, rather than the kinds of informal toss-offs or personal musings you sometimes see on some blogs. The best of the columns submitted to “Rep. Readers Write” may ultimately run in other sections of our website, like Investing or Wealth Management or Advisorland, and some of these may even run in the print magazine.

This idea first came about because we were getting such a flood of submissions from readers and industry members that we couldn't possibly keep up with them all. So we know there are a lot of you out there who want to make yourselves heard. If you like this idea, please go to our homepage of our website; scroll down to “Rep. Readers Write,” sign up and submit a story. Registered users can also comment on the submissions of other users. I would like to thank those who have already posted articles, including, most recently, Cheryl Nash of Fiserv and April Rudin of The Rudin Group. We look forward to reading your stuff!
