Nancy Anderson

Senior Vice President - Head of Wealth Strategy & Trust Services, Calamos

Nancy Anderson, J.D. is a Senior Vice President and Head of Wealth Strategy and Trust Services.  Nancy joined Calamos Wealth Management from BNY Mellon (Chicago), where she served as regional vice president and senior wealth director with an extensive background in wealth management, business development, trust and estate planning work building relationships with high net worth families and business owners. She is based in the Naperville office and has a national presence as she frequently collaborates with advisor teams on behalf of clients across the country. Anderson will lead the fiduciary and trust growth of Calamos Private Trust. Nancy has a strong presence in the Midwest (MN, WI and IL) and long term relationships with her clients and centers of influence in the region. 

After beginning her career as a bank trust officer, Nancy earned a law degree in 1991 from Mitchell Hamline College of Law and has been an active member of the Minnesota Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar association and Financial Planning Association (FPA). She engaged in private practice, focused on estate planning, before bringing her law and trust backgrounds together as a vice president and trust director with American Express. She then held senior wealth strategy positions with Merrill Lynch Trust Company, Citigroup Global Wealth Management, US Bank Private Client Reserve, Bank of America and, most recently, BNY Mellon Wealth Management in Chicago, where she led an integrated team providing portfolio management, trust planning and administration, and a wide range of private-banking services. 

In addition to her law degree, she holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Minnesota and a wide range of industry certifications including Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor® (ADPA®), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) from the Irwin Graduate School at the American College. In the media, Anderson has been recognized among Top Women in Finance, (Real) Power 50 and Hispanic Women in Business. 

Nancy serves as board member with the American Diabetes Association, the National Hispanic Bar Association, Mitchell Hamline College of Law Alumni Association (where she has also served as an adjunct professor) and her local Rotary Club. Anderson volunteers her time in the local community as a Hospital Magician for Open Heart Magic a non-profit organization bringing therapeutic magic to sick children at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s hospital. 

Nancy enjoys spending time with her family and traveling abroad. She enjoys theatre, opera and tennis.
