Cetera Financial Group, the independent broker/dealer group, hired Alex Kaye as vice president, and Kian Rafia joins as director of advisory products. Kaye spent the last three-plus years with Wilshire Associates as senior portfolio manager, vice president and Investment Committee member, and Rafia was previously a senior analyst of investment products and platform at LPL Financial.
John Hancock Financial Network hired Bruce Harrington to head up its retirement sales and investment strategy platforms. Harrington is formerly of LPL Financial where he served as senior vice president in the firm's Retirement Solutions Division, responsible for developing product and marketing offerings.
Financial Research Corporation, an asset management market research firm, announced that William C. Carey joined its Board of Directors. Carey served as head of distribution at Oppenheimer Funds for four months when he left the company in January. Prior to that, Carey served as national executive of the Institutional Retirement Group for Bank of America and prior to that, President of Fidelity Investments Registered Advisor Group and Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company.
