Registered Rep.: Best business move?

Matthew MacMichael: Buying the company I worked for. It put me in the driver's seat to make sensible decisions for our corporate future.

RR: The longest day you ever worked?

MM: September 11th. I got in early. The world changed. And I didn't leave. I just made calls, checking in on clients for 18 plus hours.

RR: What does your ideal client look like?

MM: A couple or a corporate board willing and open to listen to sound advice and fresh ideas.

RR: One book that changed your life?

MM: The Bible. Read it. You'll understand you really are not in the driver's seat. God is in control. This relieves a lot of stress.

RR: Favorite charity?

MM: MEND — Moorestown Ecumenical Development Company (low and moderate housing for New Jersey citizens).

RR: You're a big fan of the beach. Best beach in New Jersey, and in the world?

MM: Ocean City, NJ — My kids love it — and Bondi Beach, Australia, 20 minutes from Sydney.

RR: Your personal or business motto?

MM: Personal — It is what it is. Business — it's all, and I mean all, about the client.

RR: Your definition of wealth management in 10 words or less?

MM: Investment management, lifestyle management, asset protection, effective wealth transfer strategies.

RR: The best thing about turning 34 (this year)!

MM: Another year with Johanna (wife) Pace (son) and Schyler (daughter).
