Edward D. Jones notches out A.G. Edwards for the No. 1 spot [on the Brokerage Report Card Survey] this year. Jones claims the tops spot with a 9.30 rating, edging out Edwards' overall score of 9.10. Registered Representative, December 1993. The two firms also top this year's list, but we're still not sure what notches out means.
