While searching the archives I found this thread. I just wanted to bring it back to life and let everyone know that this crap is still alive and well.

And your point is…?

My point is there are some expectional performers at EJ and they should be recognized continuously for the work they have done.

Spiff-

I was an IR at Jones when the article came out. I remember having several conversations with my RL as well as home office, asking why in the hell they would want to annoy 99% of the workforce who started from scratch. They apologized and I thought this was the end of it. Am I reading this correctly, they put him out as an example again?   Spiff....who are you related to? Or are you like the rest of us, starting from scratch....I know they gave you 5mil to start (and all they bought were CD's).

First, not related to anyone at Jones.  The only other person with my last name in the directory is my wife.  It wasn’t $5 mil it was $9 mil.  After the dust settled it ended up being about $7 mil.  So, I didn’t start from scratch, but it wasn’t the office of a lifetime either.

Second, Ron decided to revive a several year old thread, so no, they haven't put his name on the cover again.  And I agree with you.  I don't like it when they hold someone up as a shining example, just to find out that he was given the golden ticket of a large existing office.  My previous RL was one of those.  Would stand up at regional meetings telling all the new FAs that they should be doing this or that.  All the while reminding us that his daddy was the pioneer in our county and was here before most of us were born.  Son walked right into dad's office when he retired.  Now he has the nerve to tell us how hard and frustrating it is to build a biz.  Right.

Many of us use our wives as On-call BOAs.

You should be more respectful of senior members.

Just a side note.

The Edward Jones Overtime checks are in the mail (for the California case). I just received mine and was very pleasantly suprised! It was more than they originally projected...
