There is nothing special about the training in my opinion. I went through the Warren, NJ route for two weeks. It was kool-aid mixed with group pop quizzes on the ABC's of prospecting. Winner goes to the quickest hand that is raised. Temper your expectations, sit in back and laugh at the other jokers in the room. The partying rumors are overrated as well. By the 2nd or 3rd night everyone just hangs out in the hotel bar called TK's. It was a comedy show for me. Poor saps. Enjoy the nice bus ride to and from campus every morning and evening. Its a real joy.It’s not final yet but if I get hired it would be on the SB side. So I would go to NJ within the first few months for 2 weeks. That’s pretty cool…I bet you learn a lot of valuable information. I think you are right though it used to be a month or so. I think MS people went to Manhattan for a month or so back in the day. I cant even remember. It was some thing they chanted over and over again.... "Discovery, Acknowledge, Receptivity Test, Trial Close, Handle Objection, Close." "Feel, Felt, Found...." The people who memorized it all and knew the answers never made it back to year two.what are the ABCs of prospecting? That sounds like a EDJ thing… HAMBURGER…

Any MSSB guys know what the new training program will look like for 2010? Still two weeks in Warren, NJ or training in Dallas?
Thanks, Stealth. I start in February and am looking forward to it. Is the training primarily the Smith Barney training that was already in place or is it a new program combining the two previous training programs? How much of the week is prospecting versus products?

^ I have a colleague who will going to Warren this month and will start production in Feb.
Are you starting as an employee with MSSB in Feb, or is that the start of your production?I start with MSSB in February. I am already licensed so I'm not sure exactly how that will work. It looks like I might join an existing class.
