I know that they don’t allow the sale of L share VA’s.  If you transfer one in, do you get the full commission being paid or do they give it a haircut?  I have quite a few where I took a small initial payout so they would pay the 1% trail, and I don’t want to give that up.

If you leave RJ and go elsewhere, are the VA's you sell proprietary, or can they transfer?

Some vendors do have L shares (Lincoln for sure). They are not proprietary, they are just different versions of the same product, like Jones does. RJ isn’t keeping anything, it was a re-work of what the client pays and how/when the insurance company pays it out. They are completely transferrable.

I think transferring in is fine, because they base it on the first 7 years... Also the expenses on RJ's VA are less(hence why the pay is less). Not sure if that counts as proprietary...

Does anyone hear work for RJ?   Why don't you just call RJ and then report back to us
