Former TD Ameritrade Exec Lands at FP Transitions

RIA consulting firm FP Transitions has tapped Scott Leak, whose institutional sales role at TDAI was cut in the wake of Schwab's acquisition, as a senior consultant.

Scott Leak, former director of institutional sales at TD Ameritrade Institutional, has joined RIA consulting firm FP Transitions as a senior consultant. Leak will be working with Marcus Hagood, who leads the Equity Management System team at FP Transitions.

scott-leak.jpegLeak was let go from TDAI in May after more than two decades with the firm, as part of a round of layoffs Schwab made in the wake of its acquisition and integration of the one-time rival. That round of cuts also included Vanessa Oligino, director of business performance solutions at TD Ameritrade, and Greg Menefee, director of institutional consulting and sales support and implementation at TD Ameritrade Institutional.

“At TD Ameritrade, I was a part of a solution that accelerated so many advisors in finding success transitioning to the independent advisory model,” Leak said in a statement. “Now, with FP Transitions, I want to help accelerate what I think is one of the most important trends in our industry: empowering those advisors to build enduring, transferable businesses.”

Lake Oswego, Ore.–based FP Transitions also announced the addition of Eric Godes, former president and chief operating officer at Daintree Advisors, as senior vice president. Jessica Flynn, former managing director of strategic partnerships at the Financial Planning Association, also joins as communications director.
