Cetera Affiliate Adds $327M Atlanta Team from MML

Advisors Raymond Bardoul and Brian Fox will establish an Atlanta office for Totus Wealth Management, an OSJ of Cetera Advisors.

Cetera Financial Group has recruited two Atlanta-based advisors with $327 million in combined client assets from MML Investors Services. Advisors Raymond Bardoul and Brian Fox will establish an Atlanta office for Totus Wealth Management, an office of supervisory jurisdiction that joined Cetera Advisors in 2021, also from MML.

"We couldn't be happier with the service we've already received from both Cetera Advisors and Totus," Fox said in a statement. "They made the affiliation process smoother than we could have anticipated—meaning that Raymond and I never had to skip a beat when it came to aiding our clients."

Cetera has also recruited three other advisors to join Bardoul and Fox at Totus’s Atlanta office. Adam Corwin and Tim Bonner are also joining from MML, while advisor Doug Stefanini joins from M. S. Howells & Co.

James Starnes, the former president and CEO of MassMutual's Texas Gulf Coast practice, exited MML about two years ago to launch Totus, named after the Latin word meaning “the whole,” which reflects its approach to client service.

About a year ago, Totus added Burrows Capital Advisors, a $3 billion AUA Texas-based team led by 30-year industry veteran Don Burrows, from Hilltop Securities.

Last week, Cetera announced its private equity owner Genstar Capital reinvested fresh capital into the company from two of its newest funds, Fund XI and Fund X.
