The Good, Bad, Ugly On Social Media

Josh Brown, over at his blog the Reformed Broker, tries to cut through all the noise out there about what brokers and advisors can and cannot do when it comes to social media. There is way too much misinformation and disinformation out there right now on the subject he says (and he wags one finger at the trade press, cough cough). His major points:

1. Firms are scared to death.

2. You will not get clients on Twitter. 3. LinkedIn is the only useful social site for advisors so far. 4. Stockbrokers are second-class citizens on social media, just like in every other aspect of life.

He has a lot more to say about each of these things.
