Wealth Planning 2022

Advising High-Net-Worth Families and Family Offices

September 13-14, 2022
What’s new—and what’s coming next—in wealth planning that you and your clients need to be prepared for now

Advisors to HNW families and family offices must often deal with unique concerns, as these clients must balance the needs and preferences of different generations while they also consider what’s best for the family enterprise as a whole.

This forum will focus on some of the issues faced by these clients, with suggestions on how best to help them successfully navigate their investments, planning and potential family conflicts. Topics covered will include the key actions family offices should take if they’re interested in impact investing; how to help families deal with LGBTQ issues; assisting families with transferring treasured real estate; and the steps needed to make sure family offices stay relevant over time.

Discusses practical considerations when seeking to meet the needs and expectations of families with unique properties who wish to have it remain in the family on their death for the benefit of future generations – that may or may not wish to retain the property.
Explores why affluent families are increasingly interested in investing for social and environmental impact – and walks through essential actions families should take as they envision, develop, implement, and refine their impact investment strategies.
Explains why relevancy—the real and perceived sense of connection between a family and its family office —is foundational to the success attending to the family’s many practical needs – and is one of the most difficult yet rewarding qualities a family office can have.
Provides the necessary tools – including insight into language and resources – that advisors to high-net-worth individuals and family offices need to adjust their approach when assisting families with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) members.
