Multiple Trading Platforms See Outages, Slowness

Investors at Charles Schwab, TD Ameritrade, Vanguard and Robinhood all reported problems.

Monday morning brought headaches for investors, with multiple trading platforms seeing outages and slowness.

Robinhood is investigating “issues with equities, options and crypto trading” as its status page indicated “Degraded Performance” across its trading features. TD Ameritrade said clients “are experiencing high levels of slowness on the TD Ameritrade web platforms and the TD Ameritrade mobile app” and put out an apology on social media.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported that investors at Charles Schwab and Vanguard are also having difficulties accessing their accounts.

TD Ameritrade, Robinhood and Schwab all said they’re working to correct problems with their platforms. TD Ameritrade noted its thinkorswim desktop and mobile apps are unaffected, according to a spokesperson.

TD Ameritrade and Robinhood said their systems were operating normally by the afternoon. Robinhood's problems from earlier in the day were not related to stock splits at Apple and Tesla, according to a source familiar with the issue.
