Scenes from the 2017 Wealth Management Industry Awards

More than 350 people attended the third annual WealthManagement.com Industry Awards black-tie gala at The Plaza hotel in New York City on Oct. 11.

WealthManagement.com hosted a black-tie gala at The Plaza hotel in New York City on Oct. 11, honoring the winners of its third-annual Wealth Management Industry Awards and to support the Foundation for Financial Planning.

More than 350 people attended the event, which featured a pre-gala cocktail hour, three-course dinner and the presentation of 54 awards, known as the Wealthies.

The Wealth Management Industry Awards is the only program to recognize excellence among vendors and suppliers serving the final advisor community. The winners were chosen from more than 500 entries from over 300 companies. A panel of judges culled list down to 127 finalists before the winning Wealthies were chosen.

“These firms are recognized by our panel of judges as ones that see financial advisors as customers, and offer them first-rate products and services,” WealthManagement.com Executive Editor David Armstrong said.  “These companies help advisors build better practices by giving them the tools they need – be it professional services, technology platforms or simply new ideas around investment management, or running a business. These companies deserve to be recognized for doing noble work, as these initiatives help advisors provide a more prosperous future for countless clients, large and small.”

A portion of the proceeds from the awards will be donated to Foundation for Financial Planning, an organization devoted to providing pro bono financial planning to the underserved primarily by providing grants to connect those in need with those willing to provide financial planning.
