TAMPA, FL–September 5, 2012 –Innovation Equity Partners Financial (IEP Financial), an innovative Hybrid Broker/Dealer and RIA Solution for independent financial advisors, announced today that RMR Wealth Builders, Inc. (RMR)—an independent financial investment and planning firm—has joined their platform and broker dealer Calton & Associates, Inc.
Headquartered in Teaneck, NJ, RMR provides core investment advisory services exclusively to high-net-worth families, foundations and corporations. The firm, which currently manages $1 billion in client’s assets and generates $7 million revenue, has offices in New York, Florida and Arizona.
IEP Financial was recently launched by Keith Gregg, John Simmers, Scott Sherwood, Dwayne Calton, Randy Ciccati, and Ramu Singh; a team of likeminded industry veterans with in-depth experience andtrack record in successfully building, running and growing financial services companies.
Keith Gregg, IEP Financial’s CEO, explained that his firm’s goal is to become the Hybrid Broker/ Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) platform of choice for innovative independent Financial Advisors, small- to mid-sized broker/dealers, and RIAs. One of the key attractions for firms of the caliber of RMR is iBITS™ (Innovative Business Intelligence Technology Solutions)—IEP Financial’s shared services utility and technology platform—which is already setting the stage to revolutionize the independent broker/dealer and RIA communities.
"We are delighted that Stuart Miller and his team at RMR selected our hybrid platform. This validates our ability to attract best in class financial advisory firms that can highly benefit from our hybrid model and shared service technology platform,” stated Gregg. “RMR embodies the best of what our industry has to offer: a select group of passionate, hard working and forward thinking professionals characterized by superior reputation, highest integrity and an unwavering focus on investment performance and client service.”
Stuart R. Miller, RMR President, explains that for the past 26 years, his firm was affiliatedwith broker/dealer Financial Network Investment Corporation (FNIC), a subsidiary of Cetera Financial Group. Initially, RMR selected FNIC because it was a very innovative independent broker/dealer run by a progressive and empathetic management team, which included industry-wide known professionals, such as John Simmers and Miles Gordon.
“During our quarter of a century-long affiliation with our previous broker/dealer, our firm experienced the full business lifecycle, from start-up to growth to mature business. As we reached the last stage of the cycle, we, as all mature organizations do, faced a very important decision–grow or die,” stated Miller. “We chose to grow through innovation, and that meant making a change to join our old friend John Simmers at IEP Financial.”
“In IEP Financial we found an invaluable and innovative partner truly committed to the independent advisory space. Their talent, in-depth expertise and ability to share our vision and values have been among the key drivers that compelled us to establish this astute and strategically sound business affiliation,” Miller concluded.
Joseph Russo, RMR Managing Partner, who spearheaded the firm’s search for the best broker/dealer affiliation, added, “Our mission was to find a firm that would provide innovation, empathetic management and support. In addition to offering us access to their infrastructure and unique shared service technology platform, IEP Financial also shares our client-centric and service oriented ideals and vision. John Simmers and his dream team proved to us that they can deliver the same caliber and sophistication of resources and services historically only accessible at the largest financial services companies.”
John Simmers, IEP Financial’s Co-Founder and Co-Vice Chairman, said “Having Stu and his partners join us for a second time in 26 years is somewhat of a homecoming. The RMR group is like family to me, they matter to my team and me. Their joining of our platform is an incontrovertible tribute to our mission of empowering advisors who value true independence and seek to grow their businesses. In IEP they have found a highly complementary business partner that will enable RMR to further strengthen its brand and continue to build on its success.”
