Carson Group Names New Chief Marketing Officer

Mary Kate Gulick joins the RIA from TD Ameritrade Institutional.

The Carson Group has named Mary Kate Gulick as its new chief marketing officer.

Gulick, who will report to Jamie Hopkins, managing partner of Wealth Solutions at Carson, previously served as director, digital and content marketing and senior manager of brand and creative with TD Ameritrade Institutional. Prior to that, she also served as marketing operations manager/creative director at IBM.

She left TDAI in October 2020 after the merger of TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab.

"One of our primary goals is to help our advisory firm partners grow their businesses, and marketing is an integral component of that effort," said Ron Carson, founder and CEO of Carson Group, in a statement. "Mary Kate's wide range of relevant experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow the Carson Group and our partner firms around the country."

She is being joined at Carson by Samantha Allen, who will serve as vice president of digital marketing. Allen has more than 10 years' experience working in financial services, including managing the social media and search engine optimization teams at TD Ameritrade Institutional. She left TDAI in September 2020.

"I was introduced to the Carson Group during my time with TD Ameritrade, and I'm excited to now be a member of the team," Gulick said. "Having Samantha on my team will be a huge plus as we continue to build out Carson's marketing offering. Ron has built a dynamic company, and I look forward to helping lead the Carson brand to the next level."

Gulick takes over the role vacated by Jud Mackrill, who left in January to become CEO of his own wealthtech “integration as a service” company, Milemarker.
