The Wackiest Crypto Press Releases of October

Bitcoin turns 10 today, but there are plenty of younger siblings jostling hard for attention. Here are some of the more off-the-wall cryptocurrency press releases to hit our inboxes in the past month.

October 31 is not just Halloween. It also marks the 10th anniversary of Satoshi Nakamoto’s release of the bitcoin white paper. No matter what you think about the volatile cryptocurrency, the underlying technology used to develop it—blockchain—promises to disrupt nearly every industry.

According to Nigel Green, founder and CEO of deVere Group, bitcoin will “drastically reduce” its dominance in the space over its coming second decade, while the wider crypto market will expand by “at least” 5,000 percent. While many good intentions and honest efforts are driving that, the irrational exuberance around the market means we’ll see more of the wacky, the absurd, and the flat-out scams. Here, we look at some of the more ridiculous crypto pitches to hit our inboxes in the past month alone.
