Raymond James named Erik Fruland as chief operating officer and senior vice president of its employee channel's private client group. Fruland has been with Raymond James for 20 years, most recently as vice president of asset management services.

Matt Lynch, former CEO of independent broker/dealer Capital Analysts, has landed at Tiburon Strategic Advisors as principal. Capital Analysts was sold to Lincoln Investment Planning in February. Lynch also recently joined the board of directors of ByAllAccounts, a data aggregation provider.

Independent broker/dealer SagePoint Financial has tapped Dee Morgan as its new senior vice president of recruiting. He joins from Lincoln Financial, where he served as regional managing director. In the new role, he'll handle SagePoint's recruiting efforts to attract independent, wirehouse and hybrid advisors to the firm.

Michael Kitces, a financial advisor and writer, has been named a partner at Pinnacle Advisory Group, a private wealth management firm in Columbia, Md. Kitces is director of research at the firm, and well-known for his blog at kitces.com.
